Move aside, rainbow drinks. There’s a new secret item on Starbucks’ menu. It’s not quite as colorful as the last several secret items, but it is made specifically for your favorite furry friend.
It’s called the “Puppuccino,” and dogs everywhere have been licking it up. Don’t worry, though — it won’t leave your pooch with a caffeine buzz (though it might still cause some canine form of type 2 diabetes if they overdo it). A Puppuccino consists solely of whipped cream, served in an espresso-sized cup.
According to Refinery 29, the “drink” was popularized by the Kitsap Humane Society, which has been using Puppuccinos to promote adoptable pooches on its Instagram feed. Volunteer Molly Clark started the tradition taking one lucky dog out for a Starbucks run each Tuesday. The photos of the dogs enjoying their sweet treats are absolutely irresistible:
Since word on the Puppuccino has gotten out, other dog owners have begun ordering them up for their own four-legged pals. Which leads us to ask the question: What’s next? Will there be special biscuits on the food menu? Puppy-ninis? (Just give us all the Pulitzers, now!)
And what about all the poor cats that have been left out? Cats deserve treats, too! Starbucks, we’re waiting for you to address this one.
