Hey, want to watch a movie about an emotionless drifter trying to survive a desert wasteland packed with psychopaths and exploding cars? Wait, what are you doing with that Mad Max: Fury Road Blu-ray? No, I’m talking about The Condemned 2: Desert Prey starring Randall K. Orton!
Yes, Randy Orton’s illustrious acting career continues apace, as he once again picks up the scraps by starring in a sequel to another more notable wrestler’s movie. But could Orton as a faux Stone Cold in The Condemned 2 possibly stand up to Orton as a faux John Cena in 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded? Well, if you judge an action movie by how many things explode behind the main character’s back, then The Condemned 2 has a fighting chance.
Much like the first Condemned, Orton’s character is forced into a DANGEROUS GAME where he must fight to the death, while a shadowy cabal of one-percenters bet on the outcome. The difference is now the game is being played in the desert, and Orton isn’t fit with a bomb, so I’m not sure why he doesn’t just hitch a ride home. But hey, I’ll overlook pretty much any plot hole if the movie contains a scene where somebody is killed by a rattlesnake and Randy Orton is all, “Hey, I like your style” while winking and shooting the snake gun-fingers.
