Mike “Platinum” Perry isn’t liked by most people. Mostly because of his in-your-face attitude, possibly racist cornermen, and his weird, douchey screams and handshake fakeouts during UFC weigh-ins, but damn can the guy fight. He can even rally back from having his nose broken by Jake Ellenberger to pull out an elbow from nowhere to send Ellenberger’s consciousness into the 12th row:
This is scary. It took Ellenberger a few minutes to get up:

Here’s Perry breakdancing as blood poured from his broken nose:

Perry is now 10-1 with a 3-1 UFC record (his only loss is against Alan Jouban). There’s no way Perry is ready for the top ten (Alan Jouban was just destroyed by Gunnar Nelson), but the guy has entertaining fights every single time he steps in the cage. Douchebaggery aside, you have to give him that. His nose was gushing blood and was very clearly broken, and he still pulled out the win.
For Ellenberger, this could be the end. Ellenberger’s 2-7 in his last 9, and while he’s fought nothing but murderers in that time (Robbie Lawler, Masvidal, Stephen Thompson, Gastelum, Rory MacDonald), you have to wonder if his years of battles have taken their toll. Ellenberger looked damn good against Perry, but at some point, you have to lay the gloves in the middle of the cage and say you’re done. It’s not worth getting knocked out like that again after a decade of fighting.
