Chris Pratt’s cover story interview with GQ is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only did the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World star boast about his rather organic friendship with Nick Offerman, but he also inadvertently let slip some rather suggestive details about his Marvel contract. And by “suggestive,” I mean that Kevin Feige, et al. are probably briefing the Marvel snipers this very moment.
That’s because, when asked about his future film commitments, Pratt gave details about his super-secretive multi-picture contract with Marvel Studios:
“I’m tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple.”
Or, as the interviewer explains, “I think this means he is committed to at least two sequels, as well as spin-off projects where his character will appear with other Marvel characters.”
The “three more, or five more” Marvel films Pratt refers to definitely includes Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which is slated for release on May 5, 2017, but what about the other two to four movies? Given how successful the first Guardians was, and other cosmic properties like Captain Marvel and The Inhumans, a third Guardians is most likely on the table for Phase Four.
OK then, but what about the remaining one to three films? Oh yeah, there’s the two-part Avengers: Infinity War films. Considering that Thanos himself will be the big baddie in those two pictures, a Guardians crossover doesn’t seem all that unlikely. Besides, it sticks to the source material.
