If you missed it on Friday, some Alabama students made an unfathomably insensitive sign during the lead up to Saturday’s showdown against LSU. The students want the Crimson Tide to “finish” what Hurricane Katrina started, which is so incredibly uncool that it’s hard to understand why anyone thought that would be a good idea.

The sign got panned by just about everyone on social media on Friday, and according to Sean Landry of The Crimson White, it was eventually taken down.

Late on Friday night, Alabama responded to the sign on its Twitter account, calling the sign “inappropriate” and “offensive.”

The students also gave LSU’s star running back Leonard Fournette some inspiration. Fournette is a native of New Orleans, and after Katrina hit the area, the then 10-year-old Fournette lived on a highway with his family for several days. According to Fournette, he wasn’t able to bathe and he saw dead bodies while his family was stranded.

Long story short, Fournette takes things like this really seriously. After he saw the sign, he decided to take to his Twitter account and let these students know that they did something really, really dumb.

Fournette and the rest of the LSU Tigers will take on Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.
