Spoilers follow for anyone who hasn’t watched the first season of Ash vs Evil Dead.
Ever since the first-season finale of the hit Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead, fans of Bruce Campbell’s iconic Ashley “Ash” J. Williams have been left wondering — what now? Despite the insistence of his partners in crime, Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), Ash took a deal from the villainous and demonic Ruby (Lucy Lawless) in order to save his friends. That, and his not having to worry about the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis meant he could finally take that trip to Jacksonville he’d been dreaming about since the first Evil Dead film.
As the Delta 88 disappeared along a rural Michigan highway, an ominous sinkhole suddenly engulfed part of the highway behind it. The final shot of the first season didn’t promise great things for the heroes come season two, but according to the first official photo, it seems Ash is having a good time at least. He’s presumably on a beach in Jacksonville, surrounded by beer kegs, dude bros, young ladies and an American flag.
Of course, none of this is going to last. Ruby still has the Book of the Dead, Ash hasn’t killed all the deadites yet, and his father — played by none other than Lee Majors — is now a part of the picture. So much for Jacksonville…
