By now, we’ve all been lucky enough to witness Blake Griffin absolutely destroy Aron Baynes with three monster dunks in the Los Angeles Clippers Game 1 playoff win against the San Antonio Spurs. It’s really something you can watch over and over again — well, if you’re not from the Alamo City anyway. But perhaps in getting swept up in all the fun of posterizing jams, we forgot that Aron Baynes is a person. And since he had his soul snatched from him this past weekend, the only people to honor him properly are ’90s hip-hop legends Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
The Cleveland rappers, decked out in all Cavs gear of course, stopped by SportsNation to pay tribute to a player who was just in wrong place at the wrong time … thrice. And while this is all in good fun, let us never forget that the Spurs are the NBA version of the T-1000 and they will probably adapt and look twice as strong as the series goes on. Still, any opportunity to blast Bone Thugs is a welcomed one. If only we could find a way for “1st Of Tha Month” or “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” to be appropriately used in a sports situation.
