Event Recap: Fader & vitaminwater “Uncapped” In Los Angeles

Last Thursday night, The-Dream and Rick Ross descended on L.A. to perform for the the #Uncapped concert series presented by vitaminwater Uncapped in partnership with The Fader. At a small venue called American Region, the two musical heavyweights took the stage for an intimate show, and TSS was in the building covering the action. The close setting made the night an unreal experience for the lucky 250 or so who got in, especially considering the number constitutes a small fraction of the crowd usually gathered to see either.

After opening rocker Zola Jesus warmed up the stage, The-Dream came on to croon his parts of “Throw It In The Bag” and “Gangsta Luv” amongst other selections from his catalog of hits. But the energy didn’t catapult until the Bawse came through grunting with French Montana and the freshly-inked Omarion to accompany him. And even though I hate French, there’s something about oblivious ignorance that just gets a crowd all riled up. The energy was never higher than when the two rapped “Stay Scheming.” Not to be upstaged, Rozay was a 300 pound wrecking ball, churning out hit after hit from across his discography. All things considered, not a soul walked out of the building disappointed.

Update: Check out the highlight teaser and “Unexpected Element” clip featuring Rick Ross and Omarion performing “Let’s Talk.” Check vitaminwater’s YouTube channel for additional footage.
