Police Have Killed The Hatchet-Wielding Gunman Who Opened Fire At A Tennessee Movie Theater

An unidentified 51-year-old man wielding a gun, a hatchet, and pepper spray inside of an Antioch, Tenn. movie theater was killed by police after staging an attack during a screening of Mad Max. While the Nashville police declined to name the gunman, they did divulge that he was shot while trying to escape out of a back door. One person suffered a “minor injury” from the hatchet; he and two other victims were treated at the scene for being assaulted with pepper spray. No one died and no one had to be taken to the hospital, which is the best news that could come out of this.

The gunman also had two backpacks that were going to be destroyed by the bomb squad. A witness said that a man with two backpacks was spotted trying to get in the back door of a nearby Sprint store.

Thankfully, this did not escalate to the level of previous tragedies like the Trainwreck or Aurora, Colo. shootings. Watch this space for more details.
