I’d file Game of Thrones’ final season three imagery of a blonde Caucasian woman being held up like the messiah by masses of darker skinned people she just freed from slavery as “lightly controversial.” I didn’t see anyone make a big stink over it, but at the same time I don’t know of anyone who didn’t make the observation either. The way it played out points to progress when you stop and think about it.
