The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos gave us an overtime thriller at Mile High that ended with a field goal off the upright to win the game:

The Chiefs barely even made it to overtime, scoring a last-second touchdown and two-point conversion to tie the game up at the end of regulation. The touchdown game with just about ten seconds left on the clock but was initially ruled down at the one, causing the Chiefs to scramble back to the line and try to get a play off after they’d started celebrating.

Kansas City was forced to go for two, and converted, sending the game to overtime.
Then, Santos had his stroke of luck. Even the holder didn’t think it was good at first!

Kansas City got this chance after the Broncos’ head coach Gary Kubiak decided to try for his own game-winning kick, sending out Brandon McManus to try for a 62-yard field goal that missed and gave Kansas City great field position. It was a gamble you’ve got to love but Kubiak may end up regretting it come the end of the season.
In the end the Chiefs seem pretty psyched to have been in the finish of the year. It’s probably quite a bit easier to come down from when you came out on the winning side.
Good game, @Broncos! See you on Christmas.
