Bill Murray crashing random people’s events and then telling them that “nobody will believe you” is the stuff of legend. Here are five stories for which there is some photographic evidence.
There’s that time where he crashed the construction party (aka just another work day) of the workers building the Poets House in New York, and read them some poetry. When Murray asks the workers to read some of their own original poetry, they all laugh in disbelief. “Noooo,” one of them replies.
Then, Murray does some karaoke with strangers who invited him to join them.
He then gives some sound love advice at a bachelor party: “If you have someone that you think is the one,” he advises. “Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to, and hard to get out of.” If you and your significant other can still stand each other at the end, get married, basically.
At SXSW, he went behind a bar and poured everyone shots of tequila, even if they ordered something else. Only Bill Murray can get away with being that bad of a bartender.
Then he starred in a slo-mo trailer with some guys who asked him for an autograph.
Moral of the story: definitely stop Bill Murray if you happen to spot him.
