Slayer Look To Call It Quits After One, Last Farewell Tour

For over 35 years, Slayer has reigned as the undisputed kings of thrash metal. Sadly, however, all good things must come to an end, and today, the group has revealed that they plan to call it a day. Fortunately, for their millions of fans across the globe, Slayer is giving them an opportunity to say goodbye live and in-person.

Though they haven’t revealed any dates for their so-called “Farewell Tour,” the group dropped a promo video promising that the “The End of of Days Is Near,” while their iconic metal anthem “Raining Blood” blasted away in the background. They later followed up with a poster showing that they’ll be bringing Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament out with them.

Slayer

It’s been a tumultuous time for Slayer over the last few years, especially in the wake of the death founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman back in 2013. “After 35 years, it’s time to like, collect my pension,” the group’s singer Tom Araya said back in 2016. “I like singing and just spitting that sh*t out and convincing everybody that this guy is a f*cking maniac. It’s like acting. You feel the lyrics and you show them with your facial expressions, your body expressions, your intensity. I love that sh*t.”
