People Are Throwing Themselves Out Of Cars And Getting Hurt For The Drake ‘In My Feelings’ Challenge

Because no viral “challenge” is worth its salt unless it involves youths putting themselves at risk of life or limb, the latest craze has people literally throwing themselves out of cars for the Drake “In My Feelings” challenge — also known as the “Keke challenge.” The challenge started out wholesomely enough, when Instagram personality Shiggy posted a clip of himself dancing to the Scorpion hit. From there, the dance craze caught on like wildfire as celebrities like Will Smith copied it, and eventually Shiggy even got to personally meet his muse.

But at some point, the harmless fad inexplicably went from people innocently dancing in the street to hurling themselves out of moving vehicles. Let’s see how that’s working out, shall we?

One might think anyone actually old enough to operate a motor vehicle would know better than to violently eject themselves from that vehicle, but after injuries began being reported the National Transportation Safety Board had to step in and essentially be like, “Hey dummies — stop doing this!”

In a Facebook post earlier this week, the board posted a link to eliminating distractions behind the wheel. “We have some thoughts about the #InMyFeelings challenge,” the post read. “Distraction in any mode is dangerous & can be deadly. Whether you are a driver, pilot, or operator, focus on safely operating your vehicle.”

Likewise, authorities in other countries like Spain are also warning people against attempting the challenge, with the practice getting outright banned in Egypt resulting in jail time for offenders.

If it seems like a no-brainer to not throw yourself out of a moving video, consider the fact that we started out this year with teens eating Tide Pods. Idiocracy truly is upon us.
