Rising Through The Ranks Of L.A. Noire

Rockstar Games and Team Bondi have released another gameplay video for L.A. Noire comprised entirely of in-game footage. “Rising Through The Ranks” shows how returning soldier turned cop Cole Phelps starts out as a patrolman, then seeks promotions through all five desks at the LAPD in the game (patrolman, traffic detective, homicide detective, vice cop, arson investigator).  One of the cases he investigates at the homicide detective desk is the unsolved Black Dahlia murder. (Pffft, everybody knows Hilary Swank did it, I think. I fell asleep during that movie.)

The video also mentions the ranking system of the game, “Intuition Points” used to help solve cases, and “Unassigned Cases”, the street crimes you can decide if you want to tackle or just, I don’t know, eat donuts or something.  L.A. Noire comes out on PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 17th in North America and May 20th in Europe and Australia.  In your face, Luxemburg!
