“Tougher than ’89 Laimbeer in the paint, posted, Chuck Daily coachin'”
On Eminem’s original version of “Detroit Vs. Everybody,” Trick Trick rounded out the Motor City anthem by saying the homies were going to drop a follow-up. Boy, he wasn’t lying.
While this official Trick-helmed remix doesn’t have as many names known nationwide, the eclectic mix of 313 talent on this 16-minute version will have locals extremely pleased. The song features Boldy James, Icewear Vezzo, Big Herk, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Payroll, Big Gov, Marv Won, Hydro, Detroit Che, Calicoe, Kid Vishis and Diezel. Considering a good majority of those artists come from completely different local crews and have never done work together for whatever reason, this epic homage to The D does wonders for the cohesiveness of our overall movement.
The irony is this version is about 100% more gutter than the original and the overall one-sided, stand-offish nature of this song is not going to generate a lot of love outside the Dirty Glove.
At home, though?
