Young Dolph’s making his move to take over Memphis. Without a doubt, Yo Gotti’s got a firm grip on the throne at the current moment, but every town needs a capable prince. Dolph Gabana’s staking his claim for the title and one way he’s making it happen is by capturing the attention of the city’s youth.

A few weeks ago, he hosted and performed a free show in the city for kids, bringing out a host of artists to help celebrate: 8 Ball & MJG, Travis Porter, Drumma Boy, Paul Wall, Starlito, Don Trip and others. Sure, Dolph’s material isn’t exactly PG-rated – okay, it’s far from PG – but that’s almost beside the point as Dolph takes the time to remind the crowd “Whatever you want to be in life you can be it.”

No, his song lyrics may not be kid-friendly and most rappers will never be mistaken for role models. Still, they can be vessels to impart a message and Dolph’s doing his part.
