With deep cuts like “That Night” and “Yesterday” as staples of Atmosphere’s storied catalog, hearing the duo drop a traditional Hip-Hop banger like “Salma Hayak” is pretty sweet. Instead of touching lyrics from Slug, we instead get boastful bars that should make his contemporaries feel lazy in comparison. Plus, Ant’s plucky but powerful production is quite fun, providing a bass-heavy playground for his microphone bruising partner.
There’s no project associated with this one yet, but we can still cross our fingers the Minneapolis OGs have something up their sleeve.
Correction: Slug raps and Ant handles production here.
