The teams exchanged possessions to start the game. The Cowboys closed their opening possession by punting to Darren Sproles, who muffed the return. It was recovered by Dwayne Harris at the Saints’ 22 but the Cowboys couldn’t do anything with it but a three-and-out followed by a field goal to open scoring.

From there, an 80-yard drive ensued for the Saints that ended with a 22-yard Marques Colston touchdown. The Cowboys responded with a touchdown drive of their own largely predicated on the run, DeMarco Murray gaining 67 yards rushing and taking it in to make it 10-7 Dallas.

It fell apart for Dallas not long after when Sean Lee left the game with a left hamstring injury. The Cowboys scoring halted and the Dallas defense couldn’t stop the Saints passing game. Normally, I would bristle at Collinsworth and Michaels constantly gushing about how Lee is the quarterback of the defense. Actually I still do. Nevertheless, Dallas looks totally lost with Sean Lee in the game. They proceeded to give up three more touchdowns.

And here we are at the half and Tony Romo has as many completions as Drew Brees has touchdowns. So much for Dallas keeping things close.
