Oh, how I hate pigeons, those winged rats. So obviously I take great joy in watching a peregrine falcon dive bomb one out of the air. At first, the pigeon gives the falcon the slip, forcing the predator to engage its devastating secret attack, apparently called the rapid stoop, which also kind of sounds like an endzone dance. This involves the falcon flying at speeds approaching 200 mph while pursuing the pigeon. The best part is the pigeon frantically flailing about just before the moment of impact, knowing full well that it’s doomed.
