Marshawn Lynch Gets His Skittles Endorsement And His Own Weed Strain

Marshawn Lynch has long been associated with Skittles for eating them before and during games, a habit dating back to his days playing youth and high school football. Now, at last, Lynch is an official endorser for the candy brand and has his own limited edition “Seattle Mix” blend that consists of only blue and green Skittles.

While specific terms of the deal are unknown, sources told ESPN that Lynch will receive financial compensation. The brand also will donate $10,000 to Lynch’s Fam First Foundation every time he scores a touchdown in Sunday’s Super Bowl.

It’s the first time Skittles have been endorsed by a professional athlete and it’s the most notable NFL candy endorsement since Haribo reached out to Joe Flacco during Super Bowl week last year to lend his eliteness to their gummy bears.

The candy should pair well with the “Beast Mode” weed strain developed by a Seattle-area grower.

“It’s extremely strong,” said Nate “Diggity” Johnson, owner of the Queen Anne Cannabis Club, which carries the strain named after the burly Seahawks running back.

Most of the weed sold in Seattle medical-marijuana dispensaries has a THC content between 12 and 20 percent. An indica-dominant strain of the OG Kush family, Beast Mode has a THC content of 17.6, according to testing by Analytical 360, Johnson said.

Pretty cool for Marshawn to get his own candy and weed in the same week and possibly top it off with a Super Bowl title. Personally, I’m cool with any old candy and weed. No GLORY STONER am I.
