Action Bronson & Statik Selektah – “Not Enough Words” Video

With Well Done’s release date peeking over the horizon, Action Bronson and Statik Selektah let loose the video for “Not Enough Words.” It’s my favorite joint that’s leaked off the album so far – not just because Bronson’s ridiculous with the pen, because he is, but because there’s a little of the man behind the words in this track. Bronsalino spits that fly ish like few others, but he’s rarely brought us, the listeners, into his world. There’s some hope and fear, some struggle in this one. The end of the hook, especially, has been rattling around my brain since the track leaked a little over a week ago. “But I’m here, stuck inside my thoughts/Trying to have a bag of money stuck up in my shorts.” That’s pretty basic, sure. But man, I can relate to it.

Tom Gould and Alexander Richter put together a fitting video for this, too. Last time around for “Brunch,” they had Action Bronson give into his homicidal tendencies. But this time, he’s stressing, planning, ready to make a heist. He’s working hard, sure, but this video’s mainly billowing weed smoke, scribbled plans and a little female companionship. Sounds about right. The payoff is there, just off in the distance. Bronsalino’s working, scheming with Meyhem Lauren, getting ready to take his shot.

Also below are two clips from the two’s “Dinner With Action Bronson & Statik Selektah” web series, which should give a feel for how colorful they are, how they came together for the album and all that good stuff. The three clips combined do more than enough to showcase what Action’s about as an average Joe with above average rap skills and a charismatic personality.

Well Done’s set to drop nationwide tomorrow, November 22nd. But, just in case you don’t want to wait to drop a few bucks on it, you can pre-order the album here.
