Wake County Detention Center
Matt Anderson of WKYC has confirmed that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was arrested last night in in Raleigh, NC for DWI and has been booked and processed through the Wake County Detention Center.
Gordon was still waiting the the NFL to hand down their disciplinary ruling for his second strike positive drug test in May — Gordon previously had been been suspended for two games and four game checks for testing positive for codine — and had been expected to appeal what could be a possible indefinite ban whenever Roger Goodell finally got around to his case in late July. Can Lord Rog separate the two infractions? Unfortunately for Gordon, probably not.
According to a recent report from the Plain Dealer, the Gordon family is worried about what a suspension can do to the talented wide receiver and said that being away from his team support system would only make his return into the the league that much more difficult. We hope Gordon is able to clean up and get the help he needs, not just as a great football player, but as someone who has the patience and the fortitude to go through this to show his commitment to football:
