Luck-One – “Strange Fruit” (Prod. By Samerai)

Luck-One’s rhymes have as more substance than all the food than I consumed today, even if his words are “Strange Fruits.” I’m always worried I’m going to miss something in his music because he has so much to say that it seems like he can only fit all the syllables in if he’s moving at a quick pace.

Over Samerai’s summertime sounding production, nothing is safe from “The King of the Northwest’s” lyrical ire. Whether it’s the silliness of first world problems, the unnecessary importance placed on chains and change, or the large corporations that rule our capitalistic world, the Portland emcee calls them out. We’ll see if being a king is still enough for him with his next free album being titled The Curse of the Pharaoh that is due out sometime this summer.
