Seahawks Fans Want To Buy A Brick At The 49ers New Stadium

The rivalry between the Seahawks and 49ers continues to ramp up in anticipation of a season in which both teams are considered favorites to win not only for the NFC West title, but the conference as well. The latest volley between the fan bases: Seahawks fans on Reddit are raising money to buy one of the commemorative bricks the 49ers are selling fans to appear at the “Fanwalk” at the future Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

The most obvious and most popular phrase proposed so far has been simply, “Go Hawks.” But the Levi’s Stadium Foundation, as it’s called, has the right to say no to any text it wants, so something obviously Seahawks-related could get rejected.

To get around this, the r/Seahawks denizens are also looking at writing a secret message — such as a phrase in which the first letters of each line spell out “Go Hawks.” Redditor SirBeefy suggested, for example, “Great Ones Have Achieved Wisdom Knowing Success.”

Very sneaky, SirBeefy. The always savvy acronym acrostic-that-a-dozen-people-will-understand approach. It’s clear you were knighted both for your valor and your guile.

So far, Seahawks fans have raised a little more than $200. The least expensive of the commemorative bricks costs $195, with the most expensive and prominently displayed topping out at $545.
