It’s hard to believe with all the headlines about coaching injuries and bullying this week, it’s already time to kickoff Week 10 of the NFL season. Boy does time certainly fly when you’re having fun talking about everything else happening off the field.

The 1-7 Vikings are giving quarterback Christian Ponder another shot to keep the starting gig while 3-5 Washington needs win if they hope to stay in contention in the NFC East. RGIII still is finding his footing after his ACL injury last season, but fortunately for him and his squad Minnesota has perhaps one of the weakest defenses in the league. It was bound to happen eventually, but the mighty Jared Allen is starting to show his age and no longer dominates the field like he did in his younger days. (Unsurprisingly, Allen came out as pro-hazing this week.)

Of course fantasy owners are hoping for a bazillion yards out of Adrian Peterson — not unrealistic against a middling Washington defense — while action junkies might find themselves occasionally checking on Oklahoma-Baylor this evening, FOR SHAME. Upside for Goodell and company? At least this losing matchup cannot lose to baseball in the ratings this evening.

Oh, and some guy named Cris Carter is going to get his Hall of Fame ring at halftime. Led the Vikings in touchdowns, receiving yards and receptions. Serious glory boy stats for a lunchpail player.
