The ILLZ’s music is like a great novel. You need to spend time with it and enjoy it alone. I always imagine him performing at 3am at a nigh-abandoned dive bar with a light jazz accompaniment backing him. Produced by Fragile State, “Weightless” is no different.

ILLZ paints vivid pictures of introspection, hopefulness and success. In a world of hustlers and everyone feeling the need to be on their grind 24/7, he sounds like a man that’s taking a moment to stop and smell the roses. It’s refreshing to listen to and a reminder that it’s always healthy to bask in success every once in a while whether that success is minor or life-changing. And ILLZ is just the guy to hit the right emotional pitches to drive that point home.

“Weightless” is from his forthcoming project The Darkest Hour that you can help bring to life here.

PS. “I’m in my 20s and make more than my teachers” is just a dope line. I love when rappers stick it to their teachers.
