Jay Z is one to not let you forget that he once kinda/sorta/maybe sold drugs back in the 90s.

The gangster Shawn Corey to this day reminisces wistfully about his glory days. He disclosed to Vogue Magazine of all places, a taste of his pitch to hoodwink poor Geno Smith to sign with his vanity sports agency.

I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer,” he told the magazine. “To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. Or if you want to start some sort of barbershop or car wash—those were the businesses back then. Things you can get in easily to get out of [that] life.

At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; you’re going to get locked up or you’re going to die.”

Toss out your MBAs, kiddies!

Jay is so confident on his business acumen, he’s resorting to printing out his Rap Genius entires for his players signed to Roc Nation to learn a little thing or two from S-Dot Carter.

The following lessons were drawn from Jay Z and Memphis Bleek’s magnum opuses, “Coming of Age” and “Coming of Age (Da Sequel).”

Keep a low profile.
