Your Daily Funk: Redbone’s “Come and Get Your Love”

There aren’t too many Native American groups dropping hot R&B jams, these days. Or ever, really. At least, that we know of. Yet, heritage is far from the reason “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone still stands up, 40 years after being released on their 1974 album Wovoka.

Built around the percolating bass line and unique vocals of lead singer Lolly Vegas, this enticing classic kicks the notion guys have to work hard to score, when really…good love is always there for the taking.
