There’s no animosity between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole after Jermaine reacted to Kendrick’s “Control” verse on the remix of Justin Timberlake’s “TKO.” The Compton rapper spoke with Power 106’s Rikki Martinez to quell whatever rumors that were beginning to pop up, and to speak on his Grammy nominations.

Kendrick, who revealed that he was kicking it with Cole the night before at Kanye’s show, said he “definitely texted” his “bro” after hearing the “TKO” remix verse. “He was in character and he did what he did best: played off words,” K-Dot revealed.

The rapper also spoke on his Grammy nominations, thanking his fans and family for the love and support. “It feels great. I got some of the best fans, the best family, the best radio stations supporting me, and that’s who I owe it to at the end of the day,” he said. Kendrick still can’t believe good kid, m.A.A.d city is up for AOTY either, calling the nomination “crazy.” “That’s crazy that it’s even nominated because that album is a really raw album, there’s not too much crossover. So for them to even put it in that light, that’s a win by itself. So if I take it home that’s even more of a crazy feeling.”
