What Can Scarface Do?

From a personal preference, The Fix is my favorite Scarface album. Sure, LP’s like Diary, Untouchable and Mr. Scarface Is Back preceded it, but his 2002 release was the first one I appreciated off top. Since then I’ve prided myself on keeping up with Uncle Face and even put a few people on to his music. Still, while Juelz made news this week with his arrest, I was taken back by the news about Brad Jordan which surfaced yesterday.

XXLMag.com has confirmed with the Montgomery County Jail in Texas that Scarface is currently incarcerated for failure to pay child support in four separate cases.

A rep for the jail told XXL that ’Face is being held for incidents in Harris County, Montgomery County, Fort Bend County and the state of Missouri. [XXL]

To make matters worse, he’s being held for an unknown federal case and has been locked up since October 13. Now Beanie Sigel’s “Hold ya head Uncle Face” from a few weeks ago makes sense. I can’t speak for Face’s guilt or innocence mainly because there isn’t anything to base it off of besides him being subjected to three hots and a cot for damn near four months already. Whatever the future holds, I wish the best for the brother. I guess now would be as good a time as ever to highlight “What Can I Do” from the aforementioned The Fix album. They say being incarcerated often brings you closer to God because you’re living in Hell. That makes sense because appreciating something is always easier when the exact opposite is presented. The song continues to struck a nerve with me because I always get the feeling of being a fly on the wall listening to someone else’s conversation with God. It’s that powerful to me and given his current situation, the opening bars speak volumes.

“I thank the Lord for every morning he allows me to rise
And though the sun is shining there’s a cloud in the sky
Letting me know that at any moment there could be rain
And as beautiful as life is there still could be pain”
